The Best of the Metroplex Family Choice Award™ recognizes the best of the best for families in Dallas-Fort Worth as evaluated by a substantial number of local parents. A Best of the Metroplex Family Choice Award™ winner receives the greatest endorsement that a business can receive, the approval of their toughest critics - parents. Businesses displaying the Best of the Metroplex Family Choice Award™ seal receive a competitive advantage. The Award also gives families a vote of confidence that a business will perform to the level of satisfaction that parents expect.

History

Metroplex Baby & Kids was launched in December 2005 to offer families living in Dallas-Fort Worth a meaningful and complete parenting resource and community. Since its launch, founders Barbara Arnondin and Tina Wysk have had the honor to personally meet and get to know thousands of Dallas-Fort Worth families through Metroplex Baby & Kids' MetroMoms Events Program. They learned the standards that these parents expect businesses to follow, and share those standards as regular contributors to CBS 11 News.

The Best of the Metroplex Family Choice Award™ launched in 2009. Why wait three years to present the Award? The Best of the Metroplex Family Choice Award™ would not be meaningful unless it is given by a large number of families residing in Dallas-Fort Worth under a highly scrutinized process. By early 2009, Metroplex Baby & Kids had and continues to have the largest email database of Dallas-Fort Worth families, and a larger Facebook presence than all other local parenting resources combined. These parent voters are sophisticated, active members of the community.

The criteria for the Best of the Metroplex Family Choice Award™ ensures that businesses awarded the seal truly are the choice of thousands, and not merely the result of a few unsubstantiated votes. Parents are not given any reward or incentive to nominate a business - making each nomination a  pure and true endorsement.
