The Best of the Metroplex Family Choice Award™ recognizes the best of the best for families in Dallas-Fort Worth as evaluated by a substantial number of local parents. A Best of the Metroplex Family Choice Award™ winner receives the greatest endorsement that a business can receive, the approval of their toughest critics - parents. Businesses displaying the Best of the Metroplex Family Choice Award™ seal receive a competitive advantage. The Award also gives families a vote of confidence that a business will perform to the level of satisfaction that parents expect.

History

Metroplex Baby & Kids was launched in December 2005 to offer families living in Dallas-Fort Worth a meaningful and complete parenting resource and community. Since its launch, founders Barbara Arnondin and Tina Wysk have had the honor to personally meet and get to know thousands of Dallas-Fort Worth families through Metroplex Baby & Kids' MetroMoms Events Program. They learned the standards that these parents expect businesses to follow.

Plans for the Best of the Metroplex Family Choice Award™ began in late 2006. Why wait three years to present the Award? The Best of the Metroplex Family Choice Award™ would not be meaningful unless it is given by a large number of families residing in Dallas-Fort Worth under a highly scrutinized process. By early 2009, Metroplex Baby & Kids had and continues to have the largest database of Dallas-Fort Worth families. These parent voters are sophisticated, active members of the community.

The criteria for the Best of the Metroplex Family Choice Award™ ensures that businesses awarded the seal truly are the choice of thousands, and not merely the result of a few unsubstantiated votes. Parents are not given any reward or incentive to nominate a business - making each nomination a  pure and true endorsement.
