Digging For Dinos
Enjoy a light-hearted look at dinosaurs in contemporary culture. Displays include examples of how dinosaurs appear in our everyday life - millions of years after their extinction.

Discovering Dallas
Make big Discoveries in Big D. Pretend to be a vendor, customer or delivery person at the biggest little farmers market in town. Arrange and rearrange artificial flower bouquets. Listen to the stories of real people who buy or sell produce at the Dallas Farmers Market. Climb stairs and ramps to explore a child-sized version of the Dallas skyline. Cross over a small-scale model of the Margaret Hunt Hill bridge.

Exploring Nature
A simulated forest brings the outdoors inside, giving children the opportunity to explore flora and fauna of the Trinity River corridor, grab a field guide and binoculars to become a junior wildlife biologist, try on different costumes to imagine the world from an animal's point of view and to learn how staff members care for our terrarium animals, including frogs, toads, anoles, geckos, spiders and snakes.

KIDSPACE
KIDSPACE provides an informal atmosphere for children and families to play, explore, and learn together. The exhibit includes a fishing pier, grocery store, water works and more.

Natural Science
The Heard Natural Science Museum maintains an extensive group of natural science Touring Prairie collections. The collections include minerals and rocks, sea shells, insects (including moths and butterflies), bird skins, mammal skins and a herbarium.

Vintage Aircrafts
A collection of historically-significant, vintage aircraft, and by collecting materials related to the history of aviation. Aircrafts from World War I and II, Korea 1950s and Vietnam 1960s, as well as civilian equipment.

Storyland: A Trip Through Childhood Favorites
An adventure in early literacy! Step into the pages of beloved children's books and enter a world of early literacy adventures! Storyland: A Trip Through Childhood Favorites™ immerses children and adults in favorite picture books, from the gardens of The Tale of Peter Rabbit to the urban snowscape of The Snowy Day and the tropical island of Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. Designed for children from birth through eight years old, Storyland engages visitors in storylines and literacy that lead them to discover that it's never too early to develop a love of reading.

Dora and Diego - Let's Explore!
Children and families are invited to the enchanting world of Dora the Explorer, her animal-rescuing cousin Diego, and their friends Boots and Baby Jaguar! Here they can explore Isa's Flowery Garden, help Tico gather nuts, join the Pirate Piggies crew as they set sail, and search for baby animals in the Rainforest Maze. Children will role-play, solve problems, practice sharing and caring behaviors, and learn Spanish words. Everyone will celebrate a successful day - "We did it! ¡Lo hicimos!"

Dallas Blooms: Peace, Love and Flower Power
Dallas Blooms, the largest floral festival in the Southwest returns with the theme “Peace, Love and Flower Power.” Dallas Blooms features tulips, daffodils, Dutch Iris and hyacinths, pansies, violas, poppies and thousands of other spring-blooming annuals and perennials. The finale of this spring celebration is the mass flowering of the garden’s collection of 3,000 azaleas that bloom during the end of April. Each weekend during Dallas Blooms will highlight a different 1960s theme and incorporate headlines, music, TV, fads and fashion from the swinging ‘60s. Some of these weekend themes include Vibrations of a Nation “Peace Love Freedom Fest,” a music festival throughout the gardens, Ed Sullivan Show-Celebrity Weekend starring Arboretum volunteers reenacting celebrity appearances, and Fashion Forward Weekend, where guests can create flower wreaths, dress paper dolls, and get henna tattoos.
