Metroplex Baby & Kids is proud to partner with the best
family friendly restaurant in DFW to bring our readers
recipes, tips and special offers!
As you walk into the Dream
Café several aspects will strike you; the
friendly and welcoming staff; the buzz of conversation,
mouth watering scents from the kitchen, and a comforting
and playful color scheme. The Dream Café is a fusion of
the best of several restaurants with a broad demographic
appeal. Serving wholesome global cuisine at moderate
pricing, opening for breakfast, lunch and dinner (Uptown
location), starting at 7 am everyday. It has been voted
one of the
“Best Family Friendly Restaurants” for
several years running in the DFW area. Moms can enjoy a
conversation with a friend that includes complete
sentences while the kids play in the
natural play area. Relaxing over a
fresh cup of coffee or mocha latte and order from the “I
can feel good about my kids eating this” children’s
menu, a welcome switch from fast food.
Dream Café sounds too good to be true.
The Dream Café now has two locations: The Uptown
Quadrangle and Village on the Parkway in Addison. Stores
have different hours, so visit the website for more
details.
Directions:
Whisk eggs in large mixing bowl and slowly add milk
while continuing to whisk and then add in melted butter.
In a medium mixing bowl sift your flour and salt and add
to your egg mix, whisk until smooth and relatively lump
free. If you are in a super hurry and are not interested
in little hands helping then you can put all of the wet
ingredients in the blender, blend and then add the flour
mixture and voila!
Pour into greased popover pans and bake in a 400 degree
oven for 15 minutes, then lower heat to 350 and bake for
an additional 15 to 20 minutes or until puffed and
golden brown.
* if you don't have a popover pan you can use a smaller
muffin pan and it will make 12.
** only fill pans two thirds full.
For an added treat beat softened butter and strawberry
jam to serve with the popovers.
