You are juggling working as a nurse,
motherhood and your own business - how do you do it?
I do it by having faith
in God, having a wonderful husband that is able to help
out, and being organized.

What
advice can you give to moms about incorporating
fitness into their lives?
Incorporating fitness into
your life as a mother is one of the most important
things you can do for your kids. If you're not
healthy and get sick you can't be there for your
kids when they need you. Try to get at least get 30
minutes-1 hour of exercise 3-5 times a week. Start
small and work your way up gradually. Whether you
workout in a gym or take a fitness class with your
children remember that is your ONE hour to
yourself...we give the rest of the 23 hours in our
day to our children, give yourself one when you
workout.

What advice can you give to new moms about getting
out with their baby?
Getting out and
meeting other moms that are in your same boat and
have been where you are is VERY important!! When I
was a brand new mommy I suffered from PPD
(postpartum depression) and I joined Stroller
Strides where I got to exercise and meet new moms. That was the best thing I could have ever done for
myself and my family. It helped me get through the
tough times of being a new mom and I meet some
wonderful ladies that offered me great support!

What is your
most memorable moment of becoming a mom?
My son is almost 2 and this
past year has been so much fun watching him grow
and learn new things every day. I know it will just
keep getting better.

What activities do you like to do with your son
and why?
We like to play outside and
read. I also love those moments when he is sleepy
and we snuggle up in my bed and watch his favorite
shows...Elmo (Sesame Street) and The Wiggles.
MB -
What do you like to do when you have "adult only"
time?
My husband and I like to spend
time together going to dinner or just watching a
movie together at home. I also like to spend time
with my friends when I get a chance...dinner,
movies, etc.

What
is the best advice you received about being a mom or
raising a child?
The best advice I got was from
a complete stranger that had 2 kids. They told me
not to listen to anyone else's advice. As a new
mommy you hear so many different things about how to
get your baby on a sleep schedule, feeding schedule,
etc. The truth is that there are many
different ways to do things and you have to find
what works the best for you and your family.
MB - If you could give another mom or expectant mom one
piece of advice, what would it be?
Take it one day at a time and
don't stress about the small stuff. Being a mom is
the hardest job in the world, but in the end it is
the most rewarding.

Do you have a motto you would like to share with
other moms?
I can do everything through
him who gives me strength. -Philippians 4:13
