MM - What is your most
memorable moment of
becoming a mom?
Other than the day each
of my gals were born,
I’d have to say for my
2-year-old it’s when she
says “I need Mama kiss
you” and when my 5 month
old looks up at me with
her big, toothless grin.
MM-
Congratulations on your
second child! What was
the most unexpected
aspect of adding a
second child to your
family?
At first I was thinking
that I would never be
able to love another
child like I love my
first one. Then when my
second little girl came
along, it was like
something clicked and I
was surprised that I was
able to experience that
unconditional love a
second time around!
MM - How
do you balance work and
motherhood?
Good question. It’s a
day to day battle. Some
days I find myself
comparing the hours I
worked that week to the
hours I spent with my
girls that week but all
in all I have figured
out that whether I have
5 hours of awake time
with them or 10 hours,
it’s all about quality.
I try and make sure the
times they are with me,
I am dedicated to
spending that time with
them educating, playing
around, bonding, etc. I
save my cleaning time
and personal time until
they both hit the sac
around 9pm.
MM -
What activities
do you like to do with
your family and why?
We LOVE to:
*go early to church and
play on the playground
because being outside is
the best
*hang out with the
grandparents and uncles
on a regular basis
because they are all a
big part of our lives
and we love them
*get ice cream at Beth
Marie’s here in Denton
because they have the
BEST ice cream & our
toddler loves the juke
box
*visit Target because we
all treat ourselves to
coke icee’s – my 5 month
old can’t wait to try
one!
*anything sports related
(some of my toddlers
favorite athletes are
Tony Romo, Terrell
Owens, Dirk Nowitzki and
Ian Kinsler)

If you get any alone
time, how do you like to
spend it?
My
husband and I are
thankful that we have
awesome parents who are
so involved in our
children’s lives. Both
sets live locally and
they watch the gals for
us so we can have date
nights a couple of times
a month and so I can
have a night with my
girlfriends every once
in a while. As far as
everyday alone time, I
save that for my daily
devotionals with the
Lord, my uploading of
family photos & some of
my favorite tv shows
(TIVO is the best
thing).
MM-
What is the best advice
you received about being
a mom or raising a
child?
Look to the
Lord for strength, even
when things are going
well!
MM - If
you could give another
mom or expectant mom one
piece of advice, what
would it be?
Oh goodness, I am in no
place to give advice
because I STILL have to
call my mom and
mother-in-law for
advice! There are so
many things I could say.
How about this…be
prepared because life
will change in the most
dramatic way. You will
never be the same person
but you will be a much
better person. Oh and
start saving that mula
NOW!
MM - Do you have a motto
you would like to share
with other moms?
God
made you unique and made
your children unique.
This is why you can
never compare yourself
to other mothers and
although it’s hard, you
can never compare your
kids to other kids.
