Description:

Arlington Classics Academy is an open-enrollment K-6 charter school that is rated Exemplary by the Texas Education Agency. Math and spelling are taught “one grade level up.”

     
The Details:  

Teaching philosophy: As a public school, we teach the state curriculum, the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills. We also teach the Core Knowledge Sequence curriculum. In addition to academic excellence, ACA stresses “knowledge for a lifetime” and students receive instruction in music, art and Spanish beginning in Kindergarten.

Chess Club, Communications Club, student-operated radio station, Star Dusters Dance Team,                 PSIA academic team.

Languages offered:

Spanish (K-6), Latin word-of-the-day to improve vocabulary.

Application timeline: Enrollment period extends from the first Monday in February to the second Friday in March. If there are more applicants than available spaces for a grade, a lottery will be conducted.
Application fee: The ACA PTO charges a $95 per year Partners in Learning fee to cover various expenses.
Interviews & testing: All potential students are assessed to determine their level in Math, Reading and Writing. A mandatory meeting between parents and the  Director of Education to discuss the results of the assessment is then conducted.
