Description: |
FOCUS on the Future Training Center is a private Pre-K through Grade 12
school for special education with a unique approach, developed by Brenda
M. Batts, autism training and intervention expert. We offer community
outreach, in the form workshops on relevant topics, that are open to
local parents and caregivers of children with special needs. It is based
on the belief that every child with special needs can learn and
progress, when given the opportunity to do so. At FOCUS, our priority is
helping children with special needs learn the self-help skills that are
so necessary to help them become as independent as possible. Our goal
here at FOCUS is to design and deliver highly individualized training or
workshop-based information that is geared to help provide you with the
necessary tools to help your child become more independent. Regardless
of his or her limitation, your child deserves and is capable of living a
more independent life. Our strategy is to offer specialized training
designed to help children with special needs better adapt to our
society. Without specialized intervention and training, our society is
often times too complex and confusing for your special needs child to
function in ways that are considered socially acceptable. We offer
specialized training and consulting services in independent skills
training that include: -Potty training -Behavior management -Community
functioning skills -Social skills training -Communication skills -ARD
Preparation -Transition. We are a private school for special education
that offers a diverse approach, using highly individualized techniques,
to teach new skills to children with special needs in Texas. |

Teaching philosophy: |
We, at Focus on the Future Training Center, believe that every child
is a unique individual who deserves a safe, secure, stimulating, and
nurturing environment in which they can grow and mature emotionally,
socially, intellectually, and physically. We are dedicated to
providing children with autism and other special needs with the
opportunity to blossom and grow in a unique private school environment
that caters to their individual learning styles. We believe that no
single therapy or training technique can meet the needs of all special
needs children. As a result, we will carefully evaluate each child to
determine which therapy or training technique they respond to best so
our school can use a battery of techniques to yield the very best
results for your child. We also believe that parents & guardians play
a vital role in maximizing the degree & rate of progress in their
children's social and academic development. This result can be
achieved by parents working closely with their children\'s teachers to
reinforce certain techniques in their children\'s home and community
environments that are learned in the classroom and school environment.
We must work together as a team for the benefit of our special
children. |
